I worked for the Monk field arms in 2018. With the old management. The interview process was sitting down at a table and filling out paperwork. I was shadowing for my training however due to how busy it was, was thrown in the deep end on one of the busy nights. I enjoyed working for this pub as everyone was friendly. However The old managers made it very difficult when It came to some experiences. For example, I asked for one day off a week as They were giving me split shifts and I had a second job so I needed time to recover from consistent late working hours. This was agreed but not implemented therefore I was run off my feet resulting in me collapsing behind the bar one night. Regarding this, I was given no time off they told me to simply "stay away from the food" in the instance that I could of had a bug. I was sent home due to the assistant manager realising what had happened against the managements wishes, which resulted in me being signed off for 5 weeks. This could of been prevented by them listening to their staffs needs. This is not the case with the new management, They have turned the pub into one of the most enjoyable pubs to work and be in.
